How close is your child’s visibility?
Like ships in the night, they are hard to see from far away.
🎇14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. Matthew 5:14-15
Including our families, we all have callings we are supposed to be doing that will end up as our children’s spiritual inheritance one day.
But how closely are they getting to see your God moments in all of that? Do they see you ministering to people? Do they see you being a service to someone in need? Do they see you praying over people at church? Do they see you being a friend till the end to someone, even if they don’t deserve it? The Holy Spirit will guide you, but don’t get so caught up in your callings or anointing that you forget to include them on the same God moments and have them learn the same lessons as you are while you’re achieving your calling.
Jesus took His disciples along with Him while He did the miracles, healings and healed those who are possessed. If Jesus didn’t tell His disciples, “ Okay, I can’t think straight so go stand over there so I could just do my thing over here!” Then why should we? They are our first ministry.
If you’re whole heartedly following God and being selfless about it, God is going to show up. Why not have your kids there to get to see it and see why you are so passionate and in love with Jesus about it all?
I’m nowhere great or mature in this, but I’ve been prompted by God to talk to people in public and ask if they need prayer. My daughter told me that when God talks to me, she knows when I’m going to do something while we’re both out because, my face expression changes. But just think, she’s seen so many God-ordained moments that she knows something so intimate and personal about my walk with God including when He talks to me….That’s crazy to me. 😳 But I’m coming to realize it’s all those little moments that make such a great testimony for these kids.
You are going to go out and do great things for the kingdom of God ❤️. Just make sure when you do them, that your kids don’t follow so far behind that they are like trying to follow a foggy ship in the night- you see it’s light but it simply can’t do anything for you because it’s just too far away to see all that it is and does.
Your calling should include your children, not exclude them.
Don’t worry if you’re going to mess up or what you are going to say to those you’re ministering to.
“For it will not be you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.” Matthew 10:20
I want to pray for you really quick.
God give these people your comfort,
Give them your peace,
Give them wisdom as they follow You in light of their children
Give them your light to be spread. That they would walk in boldness to take their lamp on the stand and keep the basket off of it.
In Jesus’ name. Amen
